John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who was a specialist in folk music, was a hit with millions of fans. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's popular state anthems have been a draw for many who have come visitors to Colorado. G. Brown the curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated that John Denver was the best artist to capture Colorado. In 2011, Denver was named the first Hall of Fame inductee. Today, he is seen as the symbol of Colorado to people from all over the world. It is a fact that when I travel you meet someone from the opposite continent, a person who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's biggest solo hit after appearing with small folk bands. It was written by and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff initially wrote the song with Johnny Cash's music in head, however Denver knew from the first time he listened to the earlier versions that the track would become a major success. The song was recorded by the singer only a few days afterward following a performance to crowds that were enthralled on the streets of Washington D.C.
